Our Purpose: Inventing a Permanent Peace

For 5.000 years violence was the mechanism
to manage problems between communities.
Peace was the time between wars.
The “Permanent peace of Westphalia” that ended the 30 Years War in Europe introduced the idea. The possibility to use the law to control international violence started at Nuremberg in 1945.
